§ 2.56.080. Association of community councils.

    There is established an association of community councils, hereinafter referred to as the association or association of community councils. The association is named the association of community councils together (ACCT). Each community council shall elect one or more individuals, as determined by the bylaws of the association, to represent such community council in the membership of the association. The association shall communicate and support the joint concerns of community councils to county council as requested by the association's membership.

    B.

    The county council may budget monies annually to the association of community councils for the purpose of acquiring liability insurance for the protection of community councils which have been recognized by the county pursuant to this chapter. The purchase and acquisition of insurance shall be within the discretion of the association of community councils; provided, the association shall utilize means of acquisition and contracting which is best calculated to provide insurance coverage at a competitive price.

    C.

    The association of community councils shall, within ninety days following the close of its fiscal year, file a detailed financial statement with the clerk of the county council and the county's community council liaison. The statement shall set out association revenues and expenditures from the prior year and shall be in a form approved by the county auditor.
